Nico Nico Douga to Introduce New Broadcaster Product Based on XSplits Proven Technology

February 04, 2012 --

Hong Kong (PRWEB) February 04, 2012

Dwango Co., Ltd, the company behind the popular Japanese video-sharing websites Nico Nico Douga, announced last week to their users the future availability of a new Broadcasting application called Nico Nico Live Encorder tailor-made to its live-streaming service Nico Nico Live platform.

In Q4, 2011 Dwango and SplitmedaLabs Limited entered into a technology license agreement securing Dwango the rights to develop and publish their new Broadcasting application based on SplitmediaLabs XSplit technology, - but tailor made for the Nico Nico Live platform.

The details of the agreement between Dwango and SplitmediaLabs have not been disclosed, but it is a multi-year agreement that provides Dwango access to both current and future technologies developed by SplitmediaLabs.

In building the Nico Nico Broadcaster application we focused very much on usability for our Japanese users. While XSplit is easy to use we wanted something even more closely integrated to our platform. We carefully evaluated all technical options and any technology available that could help us reach our goals. The agreement we entered into with SplitmediaLabs in 2011 is instrumental for us, in achieving a top quality product in the shortest possible time. To maximize the value for our user community we are wisely investing our development time on the product GUI, platform features and usability. For the highly technical engine functions we have chosen to rely on the XSplit core engine which is widely considered the best technology available. We still have a little way to go before a final product release, but, we are very excited about our progress and have already received some very promising user feedback says Nico Nico Live Broadcast Product Manager, Yasuyuki Sugitani.

Within a timeline of a few months, instead of years, Dwango has been able to develop a clever new application which they hope will be even more appealing to novice Nico Nico Live users. It is unlikely that the new Nico Nico Broadcaster will contain exactly the same feature set as the current and future versions of XSplit, so the integration between the Nico Nico Live video portal and the XSplit product will remain, providing Nico Nico users with a choice on which to use. Some of the absolute first glints of the new Nico Nico Live Broadcaster can be seen in the attached image.

Dwango has been very careful in their public announcement to mention that the new product is Made by Nico for Nico while still using the XSplit brand of quality and performance to announce their new product to users. - This makes us extra proud and excited. And we will be working very hard to help, in any way we can, and assist Dwango to make their new product successful says CTO of SplitmediaLabs, Henrik Levring.
